Today is like minus 6 degrees. But, at least, the sun is out! Last night was like minus 15. I'm working and San is at home with Char. Charlotte slept like a champ last night, so she's starting to get a on a much better schedule.
February 2nd ~
Today is Groundhog Day - and no groundhog is gonna tell me when winter will end. True, I cannot wait for the bitter cold to end: it's minus 12 (minus 25 with the wind chill); but I love the snow - it keeps the dregs of society from bein' so dreg-ish. This morning, I go to the doctor to get a pertussis shot! Afterwards, San is off to test for a new position she applied for. Which leaves me and Char home alone!
Here's the theatrical trailer of Charlotte and daddy's day together ~
See the feature film at HERE!!!
Monday, February 7th ~
This morning I got my first legitimate smile from Charlotte! What a feeling! Surreal! Now if she would only do it again! She's back to looking past me at something else.
Wednesday, February 9th ~
San heard back from Arapahoe House today and we pray that give her a job. This would allow her to work swings or overnights with some weekend coverage and, hence, no daycare! Char is scheduled to go to daycare on Monday when San returns to work at CDOC.
Thursday, February 10th ~
After work, we went and signed our tax papers (Charlotte payed off, man!) and then ate at Swing Thai on Colorado Boulevard. This was our first dinner out with Charlotte! She did great. San wore the wrong sweater for feeding. You live, you learn...
Saturday, February 12th ~
Tonight we went to Jessica's for a dinner with the Kirkhams. Great to catch-up with Jen and Marty.
Monday, February 14th {Valentines Day} ~
Today is, other than Valentines Day, Charlotte's first day of daycare! San is very sad to see her little girl, who for 11 months (essentially) has not been more than 30 feet away from her. But, Charlotte did great! The daycare folks said, and I quote, "She is low maintenance, we like that."
For VDay San gave me some stylin' snifter glasses and some fancy whiskey - 'cause that's what I drink now, thanks to Mad Men. I gave her the Sunset Cookbook she's so subtly hinted at for 8 months; I hope this means I can finally dispose of the stack Sunset mags she's kept since May of 2007! And Charlotte gave her mommy a book on how to teach baby to sign (other than the bird!).
Thursday, February 17th ~
Today, Stella "battled" a mouse in the house.
Saturday, February 18th ~
The Ulmer's payed us a visit. Tina packed lunch for all. Ruby is the sweetest with Charlotte. So cute!
Sunday, February 19th ~
Charlotte had her first professional photo shoot. She was just like a model - fussy and under 80 pounds {rimshot!} She has become the Little Ones face of Tara Townsend's website - Townsend Photo. If you're in need of a professional photographer, we would highly recommend her services.
February 22nd ~
Today was Charlotte's 2 month appointment. She weighed in at 12 pounds 3.4 ounces (77th percentile). She measured 24.5 inches long (99th percentile!!). Her head measured 14.5 inches (4th percentile). She got the 2 immunity shots in her thighs - which later that night had me running to Walgreens for baby pain killer. Diagnosis - she's a healthy little angel.
February 25th - 27th ~
We headed up to the Dupre family's Stone Creek Cabin {est. 1996}. Mike and I did some skiing in 23 inches of new snow at Monarch Mountain. The following is actual footage from the days events -
